    D." Childers (born November 25, 1933) is a former politician from West Florida who served 30 years in the State Senate, from 1970 to 2000, including a stint as President of the Florida Senate from 1980 to 1982 and as dean from 1988 to 2000.

    He holds the title of Florida's longest-serving
